The purpose of district communication is to build and strengthen relationships between the Hallsville R-IV School District and its students, patrons, employees, community members, and stakeholders.
The following information outlines our various types of communication.
eNewsletter: A weekly e-newsletter from the District Communications Office is published every Friday during the school year and includes school news, community information, and event/activity dates. Subscribe to the eNewsletter by entering your email here. If you have information for the eNews, email [email protected].
Student Information Systems (SIS): This online tool stores our student information and grades. Parents and students are encouraged to stay connected to monitor academic progress. Our district also uses this system to easily communicate class information through email to parents and students. Through Tyler's Parent Portal, parents can view report card, attendance, discipline and class schedule information for their child. If you need assistance with your SIS parent login, please contact Pam Scott at [email protected].
SIS Student 360 App: Our student information systems (SIS) now offers a free app where you can easily view student grades, attendance, course schedules, and meal service balances. The app can be downloaded from the iTunes Store or Google Play. When you first install Tyler SIS Student 360, you will search for the Hallsville School District by name or zip code. You will be asked to login as a Staff Member, Parent, or Student. This app streamlines all your student information in one place; parents and students are encouraged to download it to stay connected and updated on classwork. Student information is more easily viewable through this app than the Hallsville Schools app.
Hallsville Schools App: Push notifications and school information is available at your fingertips with our FREE school app! Current features include: School closing and event notifications, district and building-level calendars, lunch menus, News stream, social media stream, district calendar, Peachjar, Board of Education directory. Download the free app in the Google Play and App Store.
School Website: Our www.hallsville.org website houses district information on the home page as well as building-level information under "Our Schools." Many teachers also have webpages and links to those can be found on our staff directory page.
Athetics & Activities Website: High school athletic and activity updates can be found on the Hallsville Activities Department website at www.hallsvilleactivities.com. Middle school athletic and activity information can be found atwww.hmsactivities.weebly.com.
Calendars: The board-approved district calendar is available on our website. In addition, the district and each building has a Google calendar that can be followed on our website or through our Hallsville Schools app.
Peachjar eFlyers: In the past, schools have sent home loads of flyers in students' backpacks. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly and to embrace innovative technology, we moved from paper to digital eflyer delivery. With our Peachjar eflyer program, eflyers are sent directly to parents' email inboxes as well as posted on the school website and within the school app; look for the Peachjar logo!
Remind 101: Classroom teachers and coaches utilize the free Remind 101 notification service for their students and athletes. This is a safe text message app built for education. Personal contact information is not shared and a message history is available. If your child is in a class, activity, or sport that offers Remind notifications, you will receive information to opt in to the convenient service. (Source: remind.com).
